Hi Rita. Thank you for keeping in touch. It's not easy to do since we can't seem to get connected. So glad you enjoyed the stories. I just love writing about animals.

Rita - Just wanted to touch base with you so there's no misunderstanding. Scott is NOT my ex boyfriend. He and I have never dated. From the time we met 6 years ago, we became instant best friends...purely platonic. Scott and I have never so much as kissed...other than a friendly peck...like girls do...no tongues; no funny stuff ever between us. We never even wanted it to go there because we didn't want anything to ever jeopardize out friendship. There's no jealousy or anything like that. I have met his new boyfriend. They started dating the week after I moved here...and Scott and I still hung out a lot. I even joined him and his boyfriend when they went out for cocktails and parties at Scott's apartment. I can tolerate the boyfriend, though I don't care for the way he treats Scott all the time. The boyfriend is very selfish and thinks of no one but himself. He will even call Scott and have him meet him at a bar...and make Scott walk instead of coming to pick him up. Scott even has to take the bus to get groceries...when the boyfriend has a car, but he doesn't like to go because it's boring...and they live together. Tom would rather sit home and watch TV. They're getting a new apartment because the boyfriend wants to since the place they're in now is too small for him. Scott wants a dog and the boyfriend says no. They even had to get a place right across the street from a bar so Tom can go out drinking. Scott just turned 30...the boyfriend is 55! I wish Scott would just dump him and quit putting up with his crap...so I could have my best friend back.

Maggie says Hi Rachael. She's hovering. I tell myself she's watching the computer but really I think she's telling me it's time I made dinner.

Rita, you are so nice to me. No, I'm still here, still reading the news, still tearing my hair out at the stupidity of the world's "leaders" and the rapaciousness of its owners. I deleted a bunch more of my old articles....I just feel too paranoid with them out there, but then I feel grief when they're gone. I feel that if I started writing articles again I would just encounter more news of the police state and end up deleting again them anyway.

Your kind notes to me make me really see what an internet community is all about. Thank you for remembering me. You are a comfort, like a steadfast neighbor.

Rita, thanks for the note. I have just been trying to answer emails today. Not catching up very well but trying to. Just seeing to many interesting articles along the way, I want to read. Some funny, some sad. some just terrific articles.
